Subject: Avaya Filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy
Brothers and Sisters:
We received word yesterday, as did you, that Avaya has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the United States Bankruptcy Court in New York City. We do know Avaya has sent out information in regard to its bankruptcy filing and Avaya’s representatives did contact us as we were arriving in Puerto Rico for our conference.
Please know that the CWA T&T Office as well as our legal and research departments are keeping abreast of all developments that are happening as a result of this action. Our Office has retained bankruptcy attorney Sharon Levine, a partner with Saul Ewing LLP, who has extensive experience in these matters. A link to Sharon’s bio is below:

In order to properly equip Sharon with pertinent information that will assist us during this ordeal, we are requesting that you send us a list of any active grievances against Avaya and the issue. Please send this information to Martha Flagge at:
mflagge@cwa-union.org. As timing is critical, please attend to this request immediately.
At this time, it is imperative that if you are contacted by any outside contacts/media, you refer any and all questions to our office at
202-434-1305. Please do not put ANYTHING regarding Avaya’s bankruptcy on your respective websites and refer all communications to the T&T Office at this time.
Your Union is working diligently to ensure that every effort is being taken to protect the active and retired members and your families. Further updates will be provided as we receive additional information.
